Today we saw two amazing temples, one from the 1600's and one built in the 1700's. I felt so touched as we sat in front of the shrine and observed all the Japanese people who were there to pray. The cutest little kids sat so quietly and did their prostrations like their parents and grandparents!
We capped off all the spirituality of the morning by walking to Gion, the pleasure district, this evening. We saw two geishas from afar and many couples wearing kimono to various events.
We ate dinner at this great noodle restaraunt where you place your order and pay at a vending machine. This seems to be a popular thing to do at quite a few places. I love it - there's no waiting for a waitress to come take your order!

and the temples sound beautiful, i'm sure they were. when you come visit in Hawaii one day, you should visit the Japanese temple there. it is an exact replica of one in Japan. i can't remember where. i love it.
