The First Half of Today

I think I've mentioned how much walking we've done... this map shows where we went the first half of Thursday! Mike carried his little GPS tracker in his pocket and it marked everywhere we went. We walked across the Kamagowa river and came upon two gorgeous temples, one of which, Kodai Ji (built by a lady in the 1600's as a tribute to her husband) was the most beautiful place I've ever been. We even found a lonely trail and hiked up the mountain in complete solitude... until Mike started spinning tales about the great "Japanese viper" that would come out of nowhere and strike. That was it for me!
Anyway, this little jaunt was 7.5 miles... I expect we'll be fully in shape by the time we get home!
Oh, Mike wants me to specify that the pink and blue lines are where we walked!

Boy, I hope you have wonderful shoes for all that walking. ;>) Is there any kind of transportation you could use too? Or, is walking more fun because of the beautiful scenery?

I left our skype account on the chat feature, but I don't think you have looked at it yet.

Love the blog pictures. Keep uploading them.

I've been checking out all of the photos on Google Earth in Kyoto I can find. Kyoto looks amazing! It seems there are gardens all over the place. Have you been taking pictures of them? or are cameras not allowed?
