Summary of Library 2.0

These Library 2.0 lessons have been helpful to me because they've forced me to learn new technologies that I wouldn't have taken the time to explore by myself.I initially had no desire to have a blog or a myspace page (which is still sadly neglected, although a long lost friend found me on there and we were able to reconnect. Yay!)but I have found that blogging is a great way to keep in touch with my cousins who live all over the world and even my twelve-year-old and all his friends, as everyone seems to have one! I am happy that this program encouraged us to learn about RSS feeds, online image generators and online productivity tools.

The biggest drawback has been the complete lack of available time to complete each assignment, either at work or home. I wished I had time to read more in-depth articles about the philosophy of Library 2.0 and the directions other libraries are taking it. I was interested in what I read but never felt I could devote a lot of brain power to it. I wonder if others at the library encountered the same problem or if the Children's Department has an exceptional amount of projects that require more immediate attention... In my attempt to finish this by the deadline, I am at work on my day off. All in all, Library 2.0 has been a positive experience, so, thanks!
