I read the article "Away from the Icebergs" by Rick Anderson and found it to be insightful and poignant. I liked what he had to say about fixing services, not patrons. His ideas about finding new ways to bring services to patrons rather than the archaic model of making them come to us was also relevant. A case in point, my husband, who is in Child Psychiatry, needs articles from specialty journals to maintain a current knowledge of his field. The Health Sciences library does not have these available, either electronically or in their physical collection. Instead, they obtain the articles through ILL and charge $15 PER ARTICLE! He has found that he can get the same articles through the main campus library for free. Which library is operating under a 2.0 model?
To me, Libary 2.0 is something that needs to be sought after by all libraries if we want to maintain our relevancy and continue to exist.
